HVAC makes mall Santa more magical
The mall in our area is well known by all of the residents for being an amazing place to be around during any of the holidays.
For Halloween, the big commons area had smoke machines set up and the entire mall was filled with spooky decorations.
During easter they set up an egg hunt inside the building for the children to take part in. However, the most amazing holiday event of all would have to be what they do for Christmas. Both the inside and outside is decked up with tinsel, lights, and all kinds of festive decorations. All of the stores have their Christmas displays and sales going on as well which makes it nice to get some final Christmas shopping done. The best part of all is their mall Santa. He’s a volunteer from the community who comes back to do the job every year, and he’s incredible at it, but it’s the setup that gives the real ‘wow’ factor. The mall has HVAC zone-control and they use this to have moderate temperature control throughout the rest of the mall while running the AC in the Santa section, giving the area a chill to make it resemble the North Pole. Utilizing the HVAC system in this way is amazing and the air conditioning really helps to drive home the rest of the decorations. Santa has a big comfy chair to sit in with a real portable fireplace roaring beside him, heating his immediate surroundings. There is also fake snow constantly falling which is absolutely beautiful to be in. The Christmas tree in the section is also huge! It really is a breathtaking display, and both the children and parents love it.
