I’m so happy that I became a heating and A/C specialist instead of an architect. I used to think that I wanted to go to school to become an architect once I finished with high school, and I had a complete plan for this. My parents were both completely on board with my plan and they both supported me. They genuinely wanted me to become an architect also, and so that kind of played into my plans. I was one of those kids who wanted to please my parents, and so when they said I should go to architecture school I believed them. I did not even realize that I was interested in becoming a heating and A/C specialist until a friend of mine told me that he was going to a local technical school to get his heating and A/C certification. When he told me about the classes and how long it was going to take him, I started researching it myself. It turned out that I was really interested in becoming a heating and A/C pro myself. I thought that everything seemed interesting and I started to think that maybe it was the right pick for me. It still had to do with building but it wasn’t going to cost me a ton of money to go to the university, and it still seemed genuinely interesting to me. Now years later, I am so happy that I decided to go the heating and A/C specialist route instead of the architectural route. I am so happy with my job and with the heating and A/C supplier where I work and I am grateful for my friend pointing me in this direction all those years ago.
