The HVAC technician forgot his tools.
After the HVAC technician left the house last week, I went downstairs to see if he had cleaned up after himself.
I was surprised at how clean the furnace room looked and I was going to call the HVAC company and give him a good review.
As I looked around the furnace room, I noticed he had forgotten his tools. I was now going to call and report his good work and cleaning ethics, but I was going to have them let him know he left his tools behind. I talked to the person who answered the phone and told them who our HVAC technician was, and said he had done a wonderful job and cleaned up after himself. She hesitantly asked if I had found anything in the basement that shouldn’t have been there. I told her he left his tools behind. She told me he had called in, but he was afraid to ask about his tools. His father owned the HVAC company and he was sure he would get in trouble for forgetting his tools. He wanted his mother, the HVAC company receptionist, to call my house and see if his tools were there. I told her to have him swing by and the tools would be in the kitchen. If I left for work before he got there, he would find them on the back porch. She thanked me and told me he would be there in five minutes. He was driving around the block until he heard from her and got the okay to return to my house.
