They said that they appreciated it, but that they really just wanted to stay at home
I got a smart thermostat as a gift for my parents this year for their 45th anniversary and they really love it. It’s not your usual kind of gift, but it was something that I knew that they would really enjoy having. My dad loves gizmos and gadgets just like most men do, and my mom loves the fact that she can control her thermostat unit from her smartphone now. Whenever I was trying to figure out what to get them for their 45th anniversary, I thought at first that I was going to try and get them something like a cruise or a trip of some sort. However, they have become real homebodies over the past few years and so I was afraid that they wouldn’t even go on a trip if I bought one for them. It turned out that it ended up being a good thing that I didn’t buy them a trip after all. My brother did and they turned it down. They said that they appreciated it, but that they really just wanted to stay at home. I think that it made the gift of a smart thermostat even better for them because since they are staying home so much, they have an even bigger opportunity to enjoy their indoor air quality. My mom says that it’s the best thing ever to be able to change the temperature on the thermostat without even leaving her chair. I’m glad that they love their new smart thermostat! It’s the best gift that I ever got for them.
