A few weeks later, I received my heating bill, and I was shocked – it was much lower than it had been in previous weeks. I could not believe it. I had been skeptical about the new gas furnace, but it had easily saved me money. But the different section was yet to come. A few days after receiving my bill, I found a small wooden box on my doorstep. It was addressed to me, but who was the sender? When I opened it, I found a note that read, “Congratulations on your current gas furnace, and enjoy the savings!” The note was signed, “A grateful stranger.” Who was it from? Apparently someone had noticed my struggle with heating bills, and had anonymously gave me the new gas furnace! It was a different and unexpected turn of events, but it saved me money and warmed my heart.
