When my hubby Ed plus I lost our home in a fire, Ed and I wanted to rebuild on the same site.
- The insurance company provided us with a small apartment, but Ed and I had a small camper he and I could stay in for the six months it would take to rebuild.
The only thing Ed and I didn’t have in the camper was a shower. My buddy and I wanted a portable shower container so Ed and I could shower plus still stay in the camper. The insurance company helped us to secure a new portable shower container that had an onboard restroom. They paid the rental fee for the entire time Ed and I lived in the camper. Our construction supervisor wasn’t as cheerful with us residing so close to the house. They thought I was being a nuisance when I started asking questions. Then they didn’t do something that I agreed with, so I called the insurance company to complain. What they didn’t understand was that it was my house, so I was the construction supervisor, even if I didn’t own the construction company. I had to chuckle when one girl who was working on the condo ran into the portable shower container to have a quick shower. She had taken a shower of plaster so she had to clean off before getting in her truck. I laughed plus told him that she should have asked before going in, plus she laughed with me. That was what the owner of the construction company said when I walked in the condo just two nights earlier. She said “Touché’,” plus then she asked if I wanted to go to town with him. She was going to get some things for the bathroom, plus I could option out the ceiling fan plus lighting kits I wanted.
