My friend's coughing fit prompted me to contact the HVAC technicians
The audit season had arrived, and I had very little time to devote to anything other than work.My dealer relied on me as department director to ensure that every auditor submitted their reports on time and that we did not fall behind schedule.
Such times are stressful for me because I rarely have a few moments to myself.
Fortunately, I’ve always had people in my house, so I can focus completely on my work without worrying about anything else. This year, however, was different. My teenagers had gone on a long trip to my brother’s house and would not return for three months. My husband was away on a mission and would return in a year. This meant I was alone and things could become overwhelming; unfortunately, I forgot to handle anything other than work. It took a visit from a colleague to realize that the air quality in my home was not pleasant. She coughed throughout his stay and asked me to contact an HVAC professional for a check. This is when I realized I hadn’t followed the proper HVAC service schedule. When the HVAC specialist arrived, the HVAC dealer called to say there was no one there. I had promised to call them back and then promptly forgot. I rushed to check the A/C filters, which were horribly clogged. Even though I changed the filters, I dreaded the energy bill that month because it was obvious that a component of my air conditioning system had strained. I immediately called the HVAC company to schedule the routine service. I took the next afternoon off to make sure this was completed. They cleaned and repaired a few things that would have gotten worse if I had waited any longer.
