How to tell if you’re allergic to bumble bees

A few years ago, our child was playing in the yard, when all of a sudden, I heard him scream out, however at first, I thought he fell off his swing or got stuck in his trampoline again, then i ran out to see what was happening & he told me he got stung by a bee, but by the time I got to him, he was crying, so I did our best to comfort him at that moment.

After he calmed down, I took him inside to take care of the sting.

I removed the stinger that was still stuck in his hand & then I washed the section & immediately applied an ice pack to stop the swelling, but well, to our surprise, after a few minutes, our child began to split out in hives in random sites on his body. I noticed that he was also pale, & he became extremely lethargic. I immediately knew that he was having an allergic reaction, so I rushed him to the emergency room, but this was the first time that he was stung by a bee, & I was not prepared with any kind of allergic relief for him. Typically, with extreme bee pollen irritations, an EpiPen is used to stop the reaction before it gets worse. If you’re ever stung by a bee & you notice that your skin is itchy, you develop hives, you get dizzy, or have difficulty breathing, seek help immediately. Those are all the signs of anaphylaxis, which is a extreme allergic reaction, then my child had an anaphylaxis episode, & it was triggered by the bee sting. Thankfully, he was fantastic in a couple of sevenths & now, I regularly have an EpiPen available just in case he ever gets stung by a bee again.
