The thermostats to control the kids bedrooms were in the hallway
Melody compromised and told her kids that when she turned thirteen, they’d discuss putting the temperature control in their room
Melody’s kids kept complaining about the heat in their bedrooms. They told her it was too hot in there, and they wanted temperature controls they could control. Melody told them she wasn’t putting temperature controls in their bedroom, and she would stomp away, but they had Zone Control. The temperature control to control the kids bedrooms was in the hallway, but her kids were quite stubborn. Every day for a week they were coming to her and asking for a temperature control in their bedrooms. Even though they knew Melody would say no, they still made their plea. At the end of the week, her kids gave up on the temperature control and asked for their own apartment. Melody laughed so hard when she heard that request. Her kids were 7 years old and wanted their own apartment. They told Melody that if they had their own apartment, they’d be able to set the temperature control wherever they wanted it and no one could tell them no. Her kids would have a temperature control that belonged to them. When Melody reminded them they were only 7 years old, her kids stomped their feet at her. They said their sibling had an apartment, but their sibling was twenty and in university. In one way, it was funny, however not in all ways. If Melody’s kids were this stubborn at seven, she was afraid to see what they were going to be like at fifteen. Melody compromised and told her kids that when she turned thirteen, they’d discuss putting the temperature control in their room. This calmed them down a lot, but now they wanted calendars so they could count down the days.
