I’m confused how people managed to live in the deep south or the desert without cooling system

There are particular essentials that I couldn’t go without depending on what sort of climate I’m residing in at any given moment.

For instance, I don’t want to live in a tornado-prone section without a basement, even if I have a brick or brick house.

You never know when you’re going to be one of the unfortunate few who lose every single thing they own to a sudden and inexplicable tornado breaking through the area. I heard those sirens enough as a child to have the fear beaten into my head. On top of that, I wouldn’t try to live up north without not only a fantastic primary heater, but also a supplemental furnace as well. The freezing uneven temperatures in the winter get down as low as setback 10 degrees fahrenheit, which is not just deadly but also freezing enough to freeze the plumbing in your household if it doesn’t have adequate heat running inside. The thought of willingly trying to live in those climates without a serous heating source is literal suicide, although I also feel the same in reverse when it comes a/cs in sites with serious heat like the deep south and the deserts of the southwest. Every year the peak highs during the Summer season seem to get worse, leaving countless people at risk of heat related illnesses which could lead to death without physical intervention. Case and point—you need an a/c if you’re going to live in an severely sizzling climate like this. In fact, to me the thought of allowing that to be up to debate is just ludicrous in and of itself, but nowadays it seems like people have opinions about everything even if there isn’t a fantastic reason to hold one.
