Never ignore odors coming from your HVAC appliance

Air conditioner appliances keep you comfortable all year long, even while in hot & humid hot seasons! No matter how hot it gets outside, a well-running a/c appliance keeps your family, pets, & plants safe and comfortable.

What are some signs that your a/c is having trouble? Follow your nose & be aware of any variations in odors in your dwelling.

It’s a sign that something is wrong when your a/c appliance emits irregular or unpleasant odors. There’s no need to honestly feel alone if your dwelling has the odor of an aged gym locker room. Water builds up on the evaporator coils of a/c appliances, causing this unique odor to develop. When you use your a/c, condensation can cause bacteria & mold to grow on the evaporator coils. As soon as you notice this actual drawback, you need to take action. It’s not a very wonderful sign if your property has the smell of chemicals when you turn on your a/c equipment, and your AC is absolutely leaking refrigerant if it has a chemical odor. Refrigerant leaks can start quite small but become harsh over time. If you do not handle this issue in a jiffy, your entire unit may fail & need to be updated. When the a/c appliance is working, do you notice the odor of vinegar or cucumbers? Your AC might have a sharp or acidic smell for a number of reasons; clogged filters, moldy ducts, or too much condensation could be to blame. There should never be a burning odor coming from appliances or household systems. Your AC appliance may have a broken section if you can easily smell smoke or burning. When capacitors, fan belts, & electrical connections break or become loose, they can cause a burning odor. Burning odors & smoke can be signs of a devastating fire. You should consistently have your HVAC appliance professionally worked on if you notice these odors.
