Don’t know how to set the thermostat in fall

The evenings have started to get into the 50s.

That means when I wake up it is rather chilly in the house.

I hate it when it is that time of year. I never know how to dress or properly set my thermostat. On one hand I would like the heater to kick on late at evening. When the temperature dips into the 50s, I want to feel gentle heat through the air vents. I also want the heater to run until about noon. Then the weather starts to perk up plus feel slightly warm. By the time it is around 2-3 in the afternoon, the sun is shining plus I want air conditioning in the house. It lasts this way until around 9-10 at evening. So what am I supposed to do? Constantly adjust my thermostat throughout the afternoon? Go from heating to A/C to heating again? It is not unquestionably energy smart to constantly be messing with my system. Thankfully I have a central heating plus cooling system which means the thermostat controls the whole unit. That one device does both heating plus cooling. I don’t need to turn off a particular a/c plus beginning a heater. That would be horrible. My partner is of the mindset that my associate and I just stick with AC. If the afternoons are cold, my associate and I will just freeze. He wants to wait it out. I agree it is cheaper plus better for our system. I don’t like that the youngsters get up every afternoon for college cold though. There must be a cheap solution to this.
