Tiny dancer

As a young girl, I dreamed of being a ballerina.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t my parents’ dream.

As a matter of fact, I never took a dance class in my life because our family couldn’t afford it. Fast forward and I have a six-year-old daughter, who I refer to as my tiny dancer. I am well aware that I may be projecting my long-lost dreams on her, but she truly loves dancing. The commitment on my part is great, with ballet lessons several nights a week. And living in the northern climate, many of the nights that we are out are cold and snowy. Coming home, we often are wet and chilled to the bone. Thankfully, our home is heated by an efficient HVAC system, consisting of a boiler and good old-fashioned radiators. I have such wonderful memories of sitting on my parents’ old radiators to get warmed up. I love it that my daughter has the same. There are now so many options when it comes to the styles of radiators that are available. I am a bit partial to the vintage style, which takes me back to my youth. For many years, forced air heat was commonly installed during the housing boom. But radiators have made a come back – and radiant heat has proven to be more efficient than forced air heat. Radiators also emit clean heated air, as they don’t blow dusty air throughout the house. Many nights upon our return home, my daughter and I prop our feet up on the radiators while unwinding before bedtime. Then it’s time to tuck my tiny dancer into bed.
