Old system breaks in winter
I went to bed last weekend to awake to a pretty drastic problem, however the afternoon before the incident I went about my contractor as common with nothing out of the ordinary happening! With it being the middle of winter, I had my furnace running at condo to keep my home nice and heated for me, and since I had pets in the home I kept it on even when I was away, however it’s nice to return condo to a moderate home after running errands in the cold, and I didn’t want to keep my pets in a cold home all afternoon… However, this may have been a mistake, because the next day when I woke up my arms were covered in goosebumps and it was freezing inside! Sometime in the middle of the night my furnace must have kicked off.
I tried decreasing my thermostat to kick it into gear again but I got no response from my HVAC system, then as the sun rose it warmed up a little in the home however it was still much too cold for my liking, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to make it the rest of winter time separate from my heater.
I called my HVAC provider and busy an appointment to have an HVAC professional come service my system. Thanks to their same-day service policy someone was able to come out immediately to inspect my HVAC system and heater. I had an older system, it turned out, which wasn’t able to handle the constant workload I put on it. The system was fixed for now however the HVAC professional commanded that I look into upgrading to a newer model before next winter. For now, I’ll have to be more careful with my HVAC system.
