Approaching air conditioning the right way
I prefer this time of year because the air conditioner isn’t running night plus day, and that’s a sizable change for us plus the two of us all relish the short months that our heat pump is entirely quiet, then yet even though it’s mid December, I’m already strategizing when it comes to our air conditioner use this year, and we’ve been down here now for more than 5 years so it’s time to ease up on the thermostat setting! Of course, when the two of us first moved down here, it was quite a shock to deal with the level of heat plus humidity that comes with this region, so while the two of us were in the summer, all the two of us could do was lean into the air conditioner to try to manage the hottest months of the summer, however from July through November, the heat plus humidity are oppressive, but and since the two of us genuinely did not think any better, the two of us just kept piling on more plus more cooling, however but that comes with some costs.
Obviously, using that much air conditioner is expensive from a utility standpoint.
It’s also putting a lot of wear plus tear on the residential Heating & A/C unit. But there is also a sort of a hidden cost as well. When you use that much air conditioner, just going outside feels care about you are on the surface of the sun. So this Springtime, we are going with a new strategy that should help us in the summer time as well. We’re going to wait on starting the air conditioner until the hot plus cold temperatures are more consistently in the nineties. That should allow our bodies to acclimate to the rising hot plus cold temperatures. So by summer, the two of us should need a whole lot less air conditioner plus the summer time won’t suppose so overwhelming.
