Our kid actually put its cat up in the air vent
I couldn’t find my son’s cat, even though I didn’t want my kid to know… I told my spouse the animal was missing; and we decided to start looking as soon as our kid went to bed, and when I took him upstairs to tuck him in, I thought I could hear the cat, but it wasn’t in the real study room.
- I called my spouse upstairs, and asked him if she could hear the cat! As soon as we opened our son’s study room, she could hear the sound of the cat.
She told me to turn on the night light. She had an idea. She shines her flashlight down the air vent, and the animal was right below. She pulled the air vent cover up, shocked that it wasn’t screwed down. She couldn’t remember when she had last cleaned the HVAC ducts, although she must have left the entire air vent unscrewed when she was done. Our kid must have stuck the animal inside the air vent. She had said the old animal was cold, and I told him to put the cat’s bed near the air vent. Instead of putting the animal bed near the air vent, she must have put the animal in the air vent, but there was so much dust and dirt on the cat, that we couldn’t let him in our son’s room, because she would sleep on the bed. We put him in her animal crate and left him in the living room for the night. We knew we would need to talk to our kid that day, but we also had to put the screws back in the air vent cover.
