Verify the quality of the HVAC contractor
One of the more difficult things I’ve ever done was to embark on a custom home build project.
Just for once, I’m really glad I put off starting that project until after I retired.
I could not have managed to manage a custom home build while working all day in the office’s commercial HVAC system. Consider your focus to be shattered. Both my new house and my job would have received less respect from me. So, I’m glad that I turned off the zone-controlled HVAC system in the office before I built this house. I’m also happy that I had the time to really participate in the construction of my home. My wife and I were happy to have the kind of general contractor who asked for our input and conducted a subcontractor vetting process. We mostly chose his preferred contractors, such as plumbers and electricians. However, we wanted to choose the HVAC contractor for our new home when it came to heating and cooling. For the two of us, having the best heating and air in our new home was a top priority. In our previous home, we had endured a protracted period of somewhat subpar residential HVAC. This time, we gave our new, custom-designed home’s heating and cooling top priority. Before we finally found the HVAC contractor we were looking for, it took us a few months. The time and effort invested were worthwhile. This HVAC specialist had a strong passion for heating and cooling, which was evident. We now have heating and air of the caliber of which we had really only dared to dream.
