It surprised me when I was going through our soon-to-be new home.

I was sure it was going to be severely sizzling up there in the summer, and frosty in the winter. There was no insulation in the walls or the ceiling. My son was eighteen and still lived at home, and my friend and I thought it would provide his some privacy, but still provide his family if he needed anything. The first thing my friend and I planned to do when my friend and I took possession of the house, was install insulation in the attic apartment, and add an Heating and Air Conditioning system. My friend and I talked to the Heating and Air Conditioning company about expanding the air duct for the main Heating and Air Conditioning system, despite the fact that he said that would take away from the heating and A/C in the main part of the house. He then recommended my friend and I try a mini split Heating and Air Conditioning system in the attic. It was a small enough area that my friend and I would only need one unit. It would heat and cool the entire upstairs, and it would only take a small Heating and Air Conditioning/light kits for the bathroom, and he enjoyed knowing he had a dining room, bathroom, and small kneeling area, plus a private entrance. She offered to help us spend money for the Heating and Air Conditioning system as long as my friend and I didn’t interfere if he had business. The least my friend and I could do was provide his privacy, but my friend and I told his there would be no overnight male guests. She rolled his eyes then smiled and said there may be no help with the Heating and Air Conditioning system. I was hoping he was kidding.
