I am a nurse and my partner is the manager of a successful Heating & A/C company. We met at a bistro in the 80s. Folks often ask us what our secret is to staying married and cheerful for so long. We say that one of the secrets is communication. We talk about everything from their small quarrels to what happened at work that day. Even though working as a nurse and the manager are seriously essential jobs, we still talk about what happened at work each day, especially if it was a bad day. Being a nurse isn’t easy, as is being a manager of a successful Heating & A/C contractor. We also still date each other after all of these years. We live in the northeastern region of the country and every Friday night when it’s snowing outside, we have a date in front of their fireplace in our home. Since my partner is the manager of an Heating & A/C contractor, it makes sense that they have a fireplace and radiant heated floors in our home.We always look forward to our romantic fireplace dates and it reminds us of why they got together in the first place. During the summer time weeks when it is hot, we escape to places with beaches and cozy vacation rentals.
