He is very familiar with his high school class
Tom works as a teacher in high school.
He also teaches university classes at night to earn an extra income and because he enjoys educating others.
However, one issue with being an adjunct teacher is not getting used to the classroom he teaches in. Tom knows his high school classroom because he’s there everyday. He is less familiar with his university classroom because he’s only there two nights a week. Tom did notice that it felt humid in his university classroom, but the thermostat was functional. I left the door open to help cool down the classroom. When the students came in, Tom was apologetic about the temperature and he told them that he sent a text to see if the university HVAC technician would come out and check on the thermostat. Most of the students were super understanding about the central air failing. It was humid in the room, but it was not too much. One of his students complains about everything. She is the type of student to try to argue with his teachers about losing points on an assignment. She threw a fit about the central ai not finally working well. In the middle of his lecture, she stood up and started complaining that it is impossible to learn in this environment and Tim should repair the thermostat. Tom calmly and politely asked her to leave the classroom, as he already explained that he cannot repair the thermostat and it’s out of the code of conduct to talk rudely to instructors.
