She needed heating and AC unit serviced

Fiona kept hearing and reading that there is a shortage of Heating and A/C workers, but it never impacted her until recently.

This has been something that has been circulating for over many months now. But Fiona has never had an issue with getting service, so she believed it was only impacting greater markets. Well, she was wrong about that because she lives in a smaller town. Three weeks ago, Fiona needed her Heating and A/C unit serviced, so she contacted her local Heating and A/C business. Many times, when she calls for service, they have an HVAC expert out the next morning and periodically even the same day. Well, this time around, Fiona was told that it would take 48 hours before an Heating and A/C tech can service her unit. After hearing that, Fiona asked the representative from the Heating and A/C business about the long wait time. The rep then explained that they have a shortage of HVAC experts, and they are trying to keep up with the demand. She explained that the workers were working more hours because of all the repair calls. And since her service was not an emergency, Fiona would have the longest delay. Thankfully, her device was still running, and this was just official service for her. So, Fiona told the representative that she was flexible, and she was willing to give up her spot for someone who needed it more. It’s the least she could do to help the situation of the Heating and A/C worker shortage. Not many people suppose this, but the Heating and A/C techs are partly responsible for keeping our homes comfortable all year round. And Fiona hopes that her Heating and A/C provider can figure out something soon to help with the shortage of HVAC experts.
