Jen and Bob finally packed up their space heater and placed it inside their garage because they won’t need it again until later this year.
They began using their air conditioning three weeks ago because the weather finally changed for good.
And that meant it was time to put away the space heater for the season. Perhaps you’re wondering why they have a space heater, especially since Jen and Bob have an Heating and A/C unit. Well, they use a space heater because they don’t like using their central heating during the colder months. While the central heating does make the lake house warm and cozy, Jen and Bob prefer to avoid using it. The only time they will turn on their central heating is when the temperature inside their house drops below 50 degrees. And that happens so infrequently that a few years ago, they decided to get a space heater for those colder days. Not only can the space heater provide the heat that they need, but it also can save cash on their energy bill. Jen and Bob live alone and instead of heating their entire lake house, they can use the space heater in the rooms that they are in. So, if they are spending time in their living room and it’s too cold, they can use the space heater instead of their central heating. Plus at night, Jen and Bob turn on their space heater inside their bedroom. When it gets to the ideal temperature, they turn it off before they go to bed. Of course, if Jen and Bob had kids, pets or relatives, this wouldn’t work as well. But if you’re only two people, they suggest ditching the Heating and A/C during the winter season and using a space heater instead.
