Don’t know how to set the temperature control in fall

The nights have started to get into the 50s.

That means when I wake up it is rather cold in the house. I hate it when it is that time of year. I never know how to dress or properly set my temperature control. On one hand I would like the boiler to kick on late at night. When the temperature dips into the 50s, I want to feel gentle heat through the air vents. I also want the boiler to run until about noon. Then the weather starts to perk up & feel slightly warm. By the time it is around 2-3 in the afternoon, the sun is shining & I want air conditioner in the house. It lasts this way until around 9-10 at night. So what am I supposed to do? Constantly adjust my temperature control throughout the day? Go from heating to AC to heating again? It is not easily energy smart to always be messing with my system. Thankfully I have a central heating & cooling system which means the temperature control controls the whole unit. That one component does both heating & cooling. I don’t need to turn off a recognizable cooling system & start a heater. That would be horrible. My spouse is of the mindset that we just stick with AC. If the mornings are cold, we will just freeze. She wants to wait it out. I agree it is cheaper & better for our system. I don’t like that the youngsters get up every morning for school frigid though. There must be a cheap solution to this.
