Annual furnace tune-up
I live in a very cold part of the country.
Every year we get terrible snow storms.
My family and I always try to plan vacations if we have enough notice before a storm hits. During these storms we normally have at least 10 inches of snow and it can be stressful trying to make sure everything around the house is prepared, that is why we love to leave when we can! However, this year we didn’t have any notice before the snowstorm was coming. The weather channel only gave us one day to get ready and gather everything we need. Everyone around town was going crazy and it was impossible to find any stores left with the things we needed, like food and water. If I had know in advance, I would have also called our local HVAC company to come out and service our furnace. We have been lucky to not have our furnace go out on us during a storm, but many of our friends have not been as lucky. I know several people that have had their furnace stop working during a storm and they are left to freeze in their home. They run out of wood quickly for their fireplace and just have to sit in their cold house until the roads are clear and the HVAC company can come out and fix their furnace! I really hope that doesn’t happen to us this year because we weren’t prepared enough for the storm and weren’t able to have our HVAC company service our furnace.
