A different HVAC technician tried to sell me a new system

It was a hot summer day, and my air conditioning component had stopped working.

I decided to call an HVAC technician to come and take a look at it.

The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C repairman arrived promptly and began to inspect my air conditioning unit. After a few minutes, to my consternation he informed me my HVAC system was beyond repair. It needed to be replaced. I was taken aback by this sudden assertion, and asked him to explain further. He then went on to tell me that he had a brand new heating and cooling system he could install for me at a discounted price. With a picture-filled brochure in hand, he told me how much currency I would save on my energy costs. I was skeptical, but this gentleman was insistent. He kept trying to sell me the new system, telling me how much better my life would be with it. He said my heating and cooling system was cursed, and that it was causing terrible luck in my life. He was making me feel uncomfortable. He asked him to leave. As he left, he handed me a supplier card and told me to call him if I changed my mind about buying a new system. After the technician left, I could not shake off the eerie feeling I had just experienced. I decided to call another repair worker to take a look at my unit, and he told me that it was a simple repair – my component did not need to be replaced at all! I never called the HVAC technician who tried to upsell me back, and made sure to warn my friends and family about him as well.
