Our dad and mom have been married for 40 years.
They are the couple that still holds hands everywhere they go and you can tell that they are in love. Mom is a dentist and dad is the manager of a successful Heating & Air Conditioning business. They met at a pop shop decades ago. People often ask our folks what their secret is to staying married and joyful for this many years. Our mom says that the secret is communication. They talk everything out from their minor disagreements to what happened at their jobs that day. Even though working as a dentist and the manager are average jobs, they still talk about what happened each and every day, especially if it was a stressful day. Being a dentist comes with many stressors, as does being a manager of a successful Heating & Air Conditioning business. Our mom also said that her and dad still date each other after all of these years. They live in the northeastern region of the country and every Tuesday night during winter, they have a date in front of their fireplace in their home. With our dad being the manager of a Heating & Air Conditioning business, it makes sense that they have a fireplace and radiant heated floors at home. Our dad said that they look forward to their loving fireplace dates and it reminds them of why they got together in the first place. During the summer time weeks when it is hot, they go on dates to air conditioned Regal Cinemas.
