Friends Have Left and Furnace is Getting Ready to Run
My good friends left today to head back home and the beach is feeling emptier without them.
They were two German sisters and I really enjoyed seeing them each day and playing volleyball with them.
The one sister knitted me a small shark as a gift, which I put on my backpack to remind me of her each time I go to the beach. I sure miss my friends when they leave but I know that they will come back into my life again if all goes well. My days are numbered and grow sweeter all the time. My portable space heater is in the closet waiting to be unpacked for another winter. I hope we have a cold winter so I can do my ice water dips in the sea and feel alive, at least if only for a little while. The water is cooling down now that summer is over so it will be cold pretty soon. The cold water jolts you into reality and stays with you for a time, maybe a few hours, but after a while your body is ready for another round. I like heating my body up after the cold dips with a hot bubble bath in a bathroom with my space heater. I’ll get a roommate this year at some point and will have to use their bathtub as I only have one in the whole flat. I have central heat and air conditioning but I like to run the space heater when possible because it uses very little energy. Enjoy your day!
