We have taught college classes at night to make extra money

In addition to being high school teachers, we have taught university classes at night to make extra cash and because we love to educate others. One of the negatives of being adjunct instructors is not being in sync with the classroom we teach in. We are in sync with our high school classrooms because we’re there everyday. We’re less familiar with our university classrooms because we’re only there two nights a week. We did notice that it felt quite warm in our university classrooms, but the thermostat read that it was on. We opened the doors to help cool down the classrooms. When the students came in, we apologized for the temperature and told them that we sent an SMS to see if the university Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker would come out and check on the thermostat. Most of the students were super understanding about the air conditioner not working well. It was warm in the room, but it was not excruciatingly hot. Other students complain about everything. They are the category of students who try to argue with their professors about losing a point on an assignment. They threw a fit about the air conditioner not working well. In the middle of our lectures, they stood up and started yelling that it is impossible to learn in this environment. They said we should think about how to fix the thermostat. We calmly and politely asked them to leave the classroom, as we already explained that we cannot fix the thermostat and it is out of the code of conduct to yell at your professors.
